Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Overview
This Cancellation and Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancelling booked rides on WeDrive. We understand that plans change, and we aim to be fair to both riders and drivers while maintaining a reliable platform.
2. Cancellation by Riders
2.1 Free Cancellation
Users and Partners are entitled to one (1) free cancellation per day. No cancellation fee shall be charged if a ride is cancelled within two (2) minutes of booking or acceptance.
2.2 Instant Rides (Within City)
If a User cancels after the free cancellation window, the following fees may apply:
- Partner has not yet arrived at pickup location: A fee equal to five percent (5%) of the ride fare shall apply.
- Partner is en route or has reached near the pickup point: A fee ranging from ten percent (10%) to twenty percent (20%) of the ride fare may apply.
- Last-minute cancellation or failure to show up: A fee of up to fifty percent (50%) of the ride fare may be charged.
2.3 Pre-Booked / City-to-City Rides
Cancellation fees for pre-booked or city-to-city rides are as follows:
- More than one (1) hour prior to scheduled departure: A fee of five percent (5%) of the ride fare shall apply.
- Within one (1) hour of departure: A fee between twenty percent (20%) to thirty percent (30%) of the ride fare may apply.
- Failure to show up or last-minute cancellation: A fee of up to fifty percent (50%) of the ride fare may be charged.
3. Cancellation by Drivers
3.1 Driver Cancellation
We understand that unexpected circumstances arise. However, frequent driver cancellations affect the reliability of our platform.
- More than 2 hours before departure: No penalty; riders receive full refund
- Less than 2 hours before departure: Driver's reliability score may be affected
- Repeated cancellations: May result in temporary or permanent suspension from the platform
3.2 Driver No-Show
If a driver fails to appear at the agreed pickup time and location without notice:
- Riders receive a full refund immediately
- Driver's account may be subject to review and penalties
4. Cancellation by WeDrive
WeDrive may cancel a ride in the following circumstances:
- Safety concerns or verification issues
- Violation of our Terms of Service
- Technical errors in the ride listing
- Severe weather or natural disasters
In all cases where WeDrive initiates a cancellation, riders will receive a full refund.
5. Refund Process
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method
- Credit/debit card refunds may take 5-10 business days to appear
- Wallet refunds are credited instantly
- Cancellation fees, where applicable, are deducted from the refund amount
6. Disputes
If you believe a cancellation fee was charged unfairly, you may submit a dispute through:

All disputes will be reviewed within 5 business days, and we will respond with a resolution.
7. Exceptions
We may waive cancellation fees in exceptional circumstances, including but not limited to:
- Medical emergencies (with documentation)
- Severe weather conditions
- Government-imposed travel restrictions
- Safety concerns reported through the app
8. Changes to This Policy
WeDrive reserves the right to modify this Cancellation and Refund Policy at any time. We will notify users of any material changes through the app or by email.
